Year in Review - European Cricket Network teams up with Cricket Finland

After the first lockdown eased, European Cricket Network and Cricket Finland teamed up in June to live broadcast the scintilating early action in the 2020 Finnish Premier League.

Featuring Finland’s top eight teams and an assortment of talented international cricketers, the Finnish Premier League showcased cricket in Finland like never before from the Kerava National Cricket Ground (KNCG) in the City of Kerava, just outside Helsinki.

In a genuine turn up for the books, Helsinki Gymkhana came from a fourth place finish in the Finnish Premier League to win the playoffs and become Finland’s representative at ECL21. Gymkhana beat Empire Lions in the Finnish Premier League Final to qualify after overcoming Helsinki CC (ECL20 qualifiers) in a tense eliminator.

Finland also staged the European Cricket Series Helsinki later in the summer with Helsinki CC gaining consolation for missing out on ECL21 qualification by easing to a comfortable success.
