The Weston Shield presented by Ria Money Transfer wrapped up with a high-octane final, where the British & Irish XI defeated European XI by 45 runs to successfully defend their title. After choosing to bat first, skipper Kevin O’Brien led his side to a massive total of 197, with standout performances from William Smale (89 off 27) and Nils Priestly (85). Despite a solid fight from European XI, they were bowled out for 152 as wickets kept falling under pressure.

The expanded 2025 edition featured major names like Ross Taylor, Kevin O’Brien, and Max O’Dowd, delivering serious entertainment across two intense days of T10 cricket. The tournament opened with a European XI win over British & Irish XI—who had a rough Day 1, losing all three matches. But they came back roaring, winning five straight to earn a place in the final.

Asian XI looked unstoppable on Day 1 with three wins, while World XI snatched a dramatic one-run victory against Asian XI but struggled to maintain momentum. A late surge from Asian XI wasn’t enough, and it was European XI and British & Irish XI who made it to the grand finale.
