FanCode ECS Sweden Malmo provides an opportunity for ten teams to showcase their skills, contesting 48 games over 12 days. Every game will be live streamed worldwide on the European Cricket Network and on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent.

Reigning champions Ariana Akif (AF) dominated the European Cricket Series Malmo 2020 with a 5-1 win-loss record, losing only to Ariana CC in a Golden Ball finish in the group stages. AF will also be joined by European Cricket Series Gothenburg 2020 champions Jonkoping in their title defense. It will be interesting to see how the two teams fare against each other later in the week.
Founded in 2014, Ariana CC (ARI) stormed into the Elite division winning all lower level leagues in successive seasons. The club is famous for its power hitting which was certainly on display at European Cricket Series Malmo last season, when ARI went unbeaten in the group stages. Ariana CC were unfortunate to lose out in the final against Ariana Akif, but will be determined to go one step better this time around.
Founded in 2016, Jonkoping (JKP) have been one of the top teams in Sweden ever since. JKP were promoted to the Elite division after being crowned champions of the Swedish T20 League in 2017. JKP won the SCF T10 league in 2020 before enjoying a fantastic run at European Cricket Series Gothenburg last season with 4-1-1 record in the group stages, before going onto win the tournament comfortably.
Founded in 1980, Malmo (MAL) is the first cricket club in the city of Malmo. MAL boast some good ex-Swedish national team players including Rajan Sharma who is also the current U19 national team coach and still an active player at the age of 58! However, Malmo endured an ordinary season last term finishing third in Group B with two wins and two losses. MAL later lost the Shield Final to finish sixth overall.
Malmohus (MAM) enjoyed an unbeaten run in the group stage last term at European Cricket Series Malmo 2020 but their progress was cut short by eventual winners Ariana Akif in the semi-final. However, MAM claimed bronze medal honours and will be aiming for an even better showing this time around.
Helsingborg Royals (HRO) did not enjoy a good run last summer, going winless in four attempts at European Cricket Series Malmo 2020. HRO are placed in a tough group, but will be keen to put on a better showing this year.
Hisingens (HSG) did not enjoy a good tournament either, winning just a solitary game at European Cricket Series Gothenburg 2020 and will be hoping to improve on that showing this time around.
Lund (LND) and Goteborg City (GOC) are both making their ECS debut. Lund was expected to feature in ECL20 as Sweden’s champions team following their incredible win in the Swedish T20 Elite division in 2019. Lund were also due back to play in ECL21 after winning a play-off, the only game LND managed to win in a curtailed season.
Goteborg City have been on a steep rise themselves. GOC ended runners up in Allsvenskan T20 last year and will now be hoping to impress on the grand stage of European Cricket.
Hosts Landskrona are the late entrants in the FanCode ECS Sweden Malmo replacing Goteborg CC who had to withdraw from the tournament. LAN will be looking to grab this opportunity with both hands to showcase their talent to the world.
