Episode 27 of European Cricket Stories shares one of the most personal journeys in the series. 🎙️

ECN Founder Daniel Weston sits down with Medha Gooch, who at the time was ECN’s Chief Project Manager and later went on to manage the Estonia National Women’s Team. Born in Germany with Sri Lankan heritage through her mother, Medha talks about growing up surrounded by cricket from her earliest days.

Medha’s first memories of the game come from living life on the cricket ground, watching her parents play cricket together in the same team. She shares how she and her father introduced cricket to her PE class at school and how teachers embraced the sport so enthusiastically that they asked them to take it into other schools across the city.

The conversation also covers Medha’s time playing cricket in New Zealand, learning how to score matches while her parents played and the strong cricket community she grew up around in Frankfurt. From grassroots coaching to project management and national team involvement, this episode highlights Medha’s role in cricket development across Germany and Europe, with a strong focus on the women’s game.

New episodes of European Cricket Stories are released every Tuesday and Thursday, celebrating the people who help cricket grow on and off the field.
