European Cricket Network showcased the best women’s cricket in the world from August 12-15 with Germany facing neighbours Austria in a five match T20 Series at Seebarn Cricket Ground, Vienna – the first women’s international cricket since COVID-19 struck.
The German “Golden Eagles” relentlessly kept on setting new T20I records during their series against Austria Fire this week. All five matches were streamed live on the European Cricket Network with hundreds of thousands of excited viewers tuning in from all over the world.
In the second match, Janet Ronalds smashed Germany’s first ever T20i century with an unbeaten 105 from 74 balls, in tandem with the talented Tina Gough who also took an undefeated route 66 as The German ‘Golden Eagles’ racked up 191 for no loss. The mammoth 191-run partnership was the fourth highest in women’s T20I history and set a record for the highest total in a women’s T20I where no wicket was lost during the innings.
