Episode 41 of European Cricket Stories tells a truly global cricket story. 🎙️

ECN Founder Daniel Weston sits down with Abijit Khan, whose journey began on the streets of Bombay playing tennis ball cricket. From those early days, Abijit progressed into school cricket and later founded his own club to support development within his community.

Growing up surrounded by elite level cricket, including many Test players who represented India at the time, Abijit was exposed to high performance environments from a young age. That experience deepened his understanding of the game and strengthened his passion. As cricket evolved with the rise of shorter formats, Abijit adapted alongside it. In recent years, the ECN platform introduced him and his players to the T10 format, where his tactical awareness and experience found new expression in the fast paced version of the game.

His journey then took him and his wife to South America, where he became involved in a cricket development program in Brazil and met Matt Featherstone. That chapter significantly shaped his approach to coaching and grassroots growth. A further move to Germany saw him join Frankfurt Cricket Club, where he helped establish the academy and oversee cricket operations before later coaching in the Netherlands.

Eventually, his path led to Belgium and to this conversation in the studio. It is a story of constant movement, adaptation and lifelong dedication to cricket.
