European Cricket Network and the Guernsey Cricket Board have teamed up for charity to live stream the resumption of cricket on the island on Saturday May 30.

European Cricket Network and Guernsey Cricket Board live stream COVID-19 Appeal Match

Featuring the island’s top players in a much-anticipated return to the pitch, Guernsey Head of Cricket Andy Cornford and Performance coach Olly Tapp have selected two T20 teams for a charity COVID-19 Appeal Match on Saturday May 30.

Captained by Josh Butler (no, not that one) and Guernsey wicketkeeper/batsman Jason Martin respectively, the action will begin at midday (CEST) on Saturday at the KGV ground in Guernsey.

“Only a year ago I was playing at KGV myself, it truly is a truly magnificent venue for cricket. Now with the sudden re-opening of the ground and ability to get out in the sunshine and play this match, we think this represents a great moment to help support the game and Guernsey’s COVID-19 appeal at the same time,” said ECN Founder Daniel Weston.

Guernsey Cricket Board chief executive Mark Latter said: “The two sets of players, a mix of under19 and full internationals, will each be wearing their own club colours to ensure they do not have to share any kit. It promises to be very Barbarianseque.
