European Cricket Network and Cyprus Cricket Association Delighted to Announce Expanded Partnership to Boost International Cricket and Grassroots Development in Cyprus

Limassol, Cyprus - The European Cricket Network (ECN) and the Cyprus Cricket Association (CCA) are thrilled to announce their new expanded partnership. This strategic collaboration will focus on elevating international cricket, fostering domestic development, introducing schoolkids to cricket and nurturing the grassroots to strengthen Cyprus's presence in the global cricketing landscape.

A key pillar of the expanded partnership between ECN and CCA is the enhancement of international cricket being played by the national team of Cyprus. This collaboration will bring the Cypriot men’s national team to the European Cricket Championship, showcasing Cyprus's cricketing talent and creating a platform for immense international exposure.

In addition to the emphasis on international cricket, ECN and CCA are deeply committed to fostering domestic development within Cyprus. The partnership will focus on implementing comprehensive strategies and initiatives to nurture and strengthen domestic cricket. This will involve investing in the improvement of infrastructure, expanding training programs, and providing coaching resources to enhance the quality of domestic cricket competitions. By creating a thriving domestic circuit, the collaboration aims to produce a pool of talented cricketers who can excel on the international stage.

Furthermore, the partnership places significant importance on grassroots cricket development in Cyprus. Recognizing the importance of cultivating young talent, the CCA will collaborate to establish robust school and grassroots programs across the country. By providing funding, training opportunities, and coaching support, the partnership aims to engage young players and nurture their passion for cricket from an early age. This investment in grassroots cricket will create a solid foundation for future success, enabling Cyprus to develop a sustainable pipeline of talented cricketers who can contribute to cricket’s successful growth moving forward.

"Cyprus is a fascinating place which has all the attributes of being a great cricket country, thanks to its weather, demographics and love for sport.” said Daniel Weston, founder of the European Cricket Network. "We have a deep desire to support Muhammad and his cricket community in Cyprus to bring cricket to as many school kids as possible. At the same time, the skills of the senior cricketers in Cyprus we have seen, with their abilities to hit the cricket ball a long way suggests to me that a team from Cyprus has a major chance to win the ECL or ECC in the years to come.”

“Together, we will shape the future of cricket in Cyprus and create a lasting impact."

Muhammad Husain, Chairman of the Cyprus Cricket Association, expressed great delight about the partnership, stating, "The expanded partnership between ECN and CCA is a significant milestone for cricket in Cyprus. We are thrilled to collaborate with the ECN to strengthen the promotion of cricket’s presence in Cyprus and invest in domestic and grassroots development, particularly with the introduction of the sport in schools with teachers and school children. This partnership will unlock new opportunities for our cricketers and inspire the growth of cricket throughout the country."

The expanded partnership between ECN and CCA represents a transformative phase for cricket in Cyprus, promoting international exposure, fostering domestic growth, and nurturing grassroots talent. By combining their resources and expertise, the two organizations aim to create a vibrant and sustainable cricketing ecosystem that resonates with players, clubs, and school kids that are newly introduced to cricket in Cyprus.
