ICC and European Cricket League join forces to stamp out corruption

The European Cricket League (ECL) is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the International Cricket Council (ICC) Anti-Corruption Unit, for coverage and oversight of the event, to ensure the highest level of integrity is demonstrated in and around the European Cricket League.

“Protecting European cricketers, clubs, federations and officials from corruption is of our highest priority”, says Daniel Weston, founder of the European Cricket League.

The European Cricket League is on the ICC’s list of approved events, after receiving sanctioning by Cricket Spain as the ICC Host Member. The league will be hosted by La Manga Club, Spain, July 29, 30, 31 2019.

The ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit will start it’s coverage and oversight of the event immediately, and will be on location at La Manga Club for the league, before and during the event.

All ECL teams and players will be expected to attend presentations held by the ICC about integrity and anti-corruption in the game and how they can protect themselves.

Matches will be live streamed and live broadcast around the world to promote cricket in Europe and its domestic league champion clubs, as the new Champions League of cricket in Europe.

Furthermore, the ICC welcomes any information about corruption in cricket including information on match fixing, gambling in cricket by participating cricket players / match officials, or any other information relating to attempts by potential corruptors to compromise the players or match officials in any manner.
