The eagerly anticipated ECL25 Draw took place on the Finals Day of the Dream11 ECC Premier 2024, unveiling the matchups for what promises to be another exciting season of the "Champions League of Cricket."
A total of 35 teams, divided into seven groups of five each, will battle it out in the European Cricket League (ECL) next year, representing some of the finest domestic champions from across the continent. Among them are 27 clubs that have already confirmed their spots by winning their respective national competitions.
Notably, Hornchurch, the reigning ECL24 Champions, and Old Victorians, the runners-up, have secured direct qualification, meaning both England and Jersey will have two representatives each in ECL24. Additionally, Dreux, champions of ECL23, will once again represent France, aiming to reclaim their former glory.
One of the biggest surprises in the draw is the absence of V.O.C. Rotterdam, the inaugural ECL19 champions, who will not feature for the first time. Instead, the Netherlands will be represented by Voorburg, the newly crowned Dutch champions.
ECL25 is scheduled to kick off on 24th February 2025, with the Finals taking place on 21st March 2025, promising an epic month of intense cricket action. As the European Cricket League continues to grow in prestige and competitiveness, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of this ultimate club competition, where Europe’s best cricket clubs will go head-to-head for the coveted ECL24 trophy.
Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the start of ECL24!
