All T10 format group matches are to be shortened to 5 over matches as bad weather continues to hamper Championship Week of the Bet2Ball European Cricket League.

ECL22 Championship Week Schedule Update

The ECN Technical Committee, comprised of CEO Roger Feiner, Founder Daniel Weston and Head of Operations James Kantor, in consultation with Tournament Referee Sir Rob Kemming, have decided to adjust the T10 format group matches schedule, to be shortened to 5 over matches and then resume to T10 format matches for Finals Day.

This decision has been made in order to provide a clear, competitive and fair atmosphere for all the clubs due to the two washout days that have occurred so far and the length of the event is also limited by the logistics of the clubs needing to return home on available flights.

“All the clubs are here and keen to play as many matches as possible after fighting hard to qualify for Championship Week, we want to be flexible to help the clubs find a way to play as soon and as much cricket as possible”, said Daniel Weston, ECN Founder.

The T10 regulations the ECN use are an adaptation of the ICC T20 Rules and Regulations split in half for T10. Therefore, 3 overs per side constitute a match, which is the cut off to be able to play in the allotted time before matches are abandoned. The Duckworth Lewis Stern system remains in place.

Furthermore, to adjust to the shortened match of 5 overs, there is a limit of one over per bowler and a 2 over power play.

We continue to remain flexible and appreciate the support of all the clubs in helping to understand the situation while the weather clears and the ground is being prepared to start play once more. We want to ensure all clubs in the Championship week have the chance to raise the trophy to be crowned the kings of European cricket.
