ECL19 Day 2 Wrap Up

Day two at the inaugural European Cricket Champions League #ECL19 saw Cluj president Pavel Florin become an unlikely cricket superstar after his unique bowling went viral.

Florin broke his leg last week, but battled on gamely despite the injury to send the internet into a spin. Favourites Rotterdam clinched top spot after beating Denmark's Svanholm in the final group A game for their third consecutive success.

Svanholm at least secured the consolation of a semi-final place on Wednesday's final day on the back of talented Mads Henriksen’s all-round performances.

Italian champions Brescia won their third straight game in Group B seeing off luckless St. Petersburg from Russia, who go home empty handed after three straight defeats. Buoyed by two precious wins on Tuesday, German champions Findorff clinched a battling final four spot.

Day 2 got off to a blistering start with Ahmad Nabi from French champions Dreux making history by completing #ecl19 first-ever century with an electrifying 105 from 30 balls against unheralded Cluj and that man Pavel Florin. Chapeau!
