Care-for-Rare Foundation becomes the Charity Partner of the European Cricket League

The Care-for-Rare foundation was founded so that children suffering from rare diseases can gain quicker access to modern genetic diagnoses and innovative therapeutic methods.

Today, it has announced its partnership with the European Cricket League (ECL), the new Champions League of European Cricket. Care-for-Rare will be the ‘Charity Partner’ of the tournament. The inaugural edition of the international league will kick off from 29th to 31st July at the prestigious La Manga Club in Spain. This first edition of the tournament will be played in a T10 format across 17 matches.

The partnership between Care-for-Rare and the ECL will ensure awareness of the fantastic strides the foundation are making in their field. While the ECL will be beamed around the world on live TV broadcasts in over 65 countries and live streamed on the European Cricket Network (ECN), the ECL matches will be surrounded by LED Boards at the ground which will shine with the Care-for-Rare branding.

Talking about the partnership, Care-for-Rare Managing Director, Dr. phil. Albrecht Matthaei said, “The ECL is a first-of-its-kind cricket league in Europe and we are very happy to partner with them. Even though we know cricket is a huge global game, it is a mis-understood sport in many parts of Europe! So while we are here to focus on helping cure rare diseases, we can help spread awareness of a sport that is still rare in Europe!”

“Care-for-Rare has a deep understanding and wonderful track record of how to support and improve young people's lives.” said Daniel Weston, Founder of the ECL. “Our partnership with Care-for-Rare will spread awareness for their incredible work through a new sporting platform and to a new audience in Europe, we hope we can do more together to support them and their work further in the years to come.”

To promote the foundation and league, Care-for-Rare and the ECL will also launch a social media campaign that will entail match highlights and content from the ECL.

This will help increase awareness of the foundations work and also lead to the further promotion of European Cricket around the world.
