Austrian Cricket Association arrives at European Cricket League

“Austria has the platform for an incredible cricketing growth story in the years to come. Muhammad Ashfaq and his community of cricket lovers, players and administrators in Austria have been busy expanding the club base and number of playing fields in recent years,” said Daniel Weston, Founder of the European Cricket League.

“I hope that the incentive of the Champion Club in Austria now being invited to the ECL in the future will provide a huge boost to the participation and hunger for more cricket to be played across the country.”

Chairman of Austrian Cricket Association, Muhammad Ashfaq, said: "The Austria Cricket Association is delighted to enter a partnership with the ECL which promises to considerably enhance the ongoing development process of cricket in Austria.

“This agreement will increase opportunities for clubs, players and umpires across the country, and further boost the quality and awareness of Austria cricket. We very much look forward to working alongside the ECL family.”

Following the postponement of ECL20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the second staging of the European Cricket League - ECL21 - will now take place in May and June in Spain.
