Romanian cricketer Pavel Florin has paid tribute to his “truly inspirational” mother for her incredible example during the COVID-19 crisis.
"My mother, Pavel Rozalia, is a truly inspirational person who is almost always happy and smiling," Pavel told the European Cricket Network.
Pavel, a bodyguard by profession, revealed how he takes great strength from the example that his mother shows at this difficult time.
“Even at the age of 73, she would normally walk 10 km every day as part of her daily routine, but now with the restrictions she can only do 5 km and is very upset!”
Pavel, 41, became an unlikely cricket superstar after his unique bowling went viral for Romania champions Cluj at the 2019 European Cricket League. Cluj president Pavel broke a leg the week before the inaugural tournament - ECL19 - but battled on gamely despite the injury to send the internet into a spin.
Pavel recently revealed that he almost became a priest in an entertaining European Cricket Studio live chat with Mr Maximo, Vinny Sandhu.
