
The last day of Group A action started off with a bang as former German international Aritharan Vaseekaran of Bayer Uerdingen Boosters became the first batsman to hit six consecutive sixes in an over on the grand European Cricket stage. Vaseekaran powered his way to a 25-ball 61 helping BUB qualify for the quarter-finals ahead of Koln Challengers.

Koln Challengers signed off with a consolation win over Bayer Uerdingen Boosters with stand-in skipper Vijay Rathnavel contributing an unbeaten 24 off 14 balls to bag his first man of the match award.

An action-packed Day 5 at the FanCode ECS Germany Krefeld came to an end with Aachen Rising Stars winning the race for second place. Wicket-keeper batsman Sagar Kataria scored a scintillating 92* off just 44 balls showcasing a wide array of strokes, blasting six sixes and 10 fours.

VfB Gelsenkirchen finished third with four wins and four losses from eight games.

Group B action starts on Saturday with five more teams entering the fray in Germany.
