Preview - FanCode ECS Germany Krefeld - Group B

FanCode ECS Germany Krefeld constitutes 10 teams split into two groups.

Here are the runners and riders in Group B which springs into action on Saturday from the splendid new home of German cricket.

Dusseldorf Blackcaps are bound to be the team to beat in Group B at FanCode ECS Germany Krefeld. Originally founded in 1990 by British Business Men's Club Düsseldorf (BBCD) before being renamed, the Blackcaps are led by current German national team captain Venkatraman Ganesh. Dusseldorf Blackcaps are a formidable outfit and have enjoyed a host of success over the last decade, winning eight state championships to accompany their crowning glory of the German national championship in 2017.

Koln CC will also be keen to stamp their authority on the competition and will seriously challenge the Blackcaps for superiority in Group B. Twice Bundesliga champions in 2005 and 2012, Koln CC has also emerged victorious on 12 occasions in the past 18 years regionally and will fancy their chances of going all the way under the astute leadership of Dhruv Patel.

Featuring Germany internationals Asad Mohammed and Sahir Naqash, Bonn Blue Star will be on many people’s shortlists for success too, especially if BBS repeat the successful winning formula from the T20 regional championship in 2020.

DJK SG Solingen have a host of emerging talent in their ranks and it will be interesting to see if they can perform on the big stage when the ECS spotlight is zooming in. However, DJK SG Solingen will have to make do without the talent of club founder Murali Prasad which makes their task much harder.

Founded earlier this year, Bayer Uerdingen Wolves are an extremely new team, enjoying home advantage at the excellent German national performance centre in Krefeld. In the bigger picture, the Wolves are on a very steep learning curve against heavyweights like DB, KCC and BBS, but will look to seal a spot in the knockout stages at the very least.

Group B

Koln CC (KCC)

Bonn Blue Star (BBS)
