Originally founded in 1990 by British Business Men's Club Düsseldorf (BBCD) before being renamed the Blackcaps.
Led by current German national team captain Venkatraman Ganesh, Düsseldorf Blackcaps are a formidable outfit, especially tough to beat at their makeshift home in Nordpark.
The Düsseldorf Blackcaps have enjoyed a host of success over the last decade, winning eight state championships to accompany the crowning glory of the German national championship in 2017.

What is the biggest struggle for your club: Proper cricket facilities. We currently play on a makeshift public park.
Goals for the upcoming season: Considering the current situation staying safe and healthy.
Düsseldorf deliberations: “As a club we have a strong sense of community, acting as one big tight-knit family. One of the oldest clubs in the state North Rhine Westphalia, Germany, we are actively involved in social work through an annual event called Rainbow championship, where proceeds are donated for a good cause. Recognized as a special sports team by the Düsseldorf Sports Association, even though the city sports council does not officially recognize cricket as a sport. We actively promote diversity, support integration projects, promote grass root development with a strong focus on youth cricket. We would like to thank the Düsseldorf Sports Association for supporting us, and our sponsors Lebara, Kirtis Restaurant and Sportstadt Düsseldorf.”
