In a special evening that celebrated the growth of European Cricket and its unique journey, the Swiss Consulate General in Mumbai, Mr. Martin Maier, along with the Swiss Indian Chamber of Commerce, hosted a reception in honor of the European Cricket Network (ECN) on November 6, 2024. The gathering took place in the vibrant city of Mumbai and brought together distinguished members from the Swiss-Indian business community and ECN’s valued partners.

The highlight of the evening was an engaging presentation delivered by ECN CEO Roger Feiner, titled "From the Swiss Alps to the World - the crazy story of European Cricket". Feiner captivated the audience with the story of European Cricket’s incredible journey, a journey that has seen cricket flourish in unexpected places, with ECN bringing the beloved sport of cricket to new audiences across Europe and beyond. The presentation covered the unique trajectory of European Cricket’s expansion, showcasing its development from a Swiss-born concept to an international platform, attracting fans and players from all over the world.

Attendees included prominent members of the Swiss Indian Chamber of Commerce, representing around 30 companies with strong business connections between India and Switzerland. The event also saw the presence of key ECN partners and stakeholders. The Dream11 management team attended, alongside Anshuman Shinde, the founder of Grizzly, and Sanjay Sharma, the founder of Loka Lifestyle, three brands with whom ECN has developed successful partnerships.

The ECN leadership team was well-represented, with ECN founder Daniel Weston, Chief Operating Officer Alexis Weber, and Head of Event Business Christoph Breitrainer also in attendance. Their presence underscored ECN’s commitment to building and strengthening global partnerships, with an emphasis on collaboration between Europe and India—a relationship that has been instrumental to European Cricket’s success in recent years.

Following the presentation, the evening continued with a delightful networking dinner that encouraged meaningful conversations and fostered new connections among attendees. The guests savored an array of Swiss wines, paired beautifully with various dishes served on the fly. A particular highlight of the menu was Raclette, a traditional Swiss dish, which added a unique and authentic flavor to the evening, bridging Swiss and Indian cultures through culinary delight.

The reception was a testament to European Cricket’s ability to unite diverse communities and its potential to further bridge cultural and business ties between Europe and India. As ECN continues to grow and bring the sport of cricket to new audiences, events like these strengthen the foundation for future collaborations, creating opportunities for both countries to explore new ventures together.
