Team Preview for Empire CC Lions (ECC)

With members hailing from Finland, England, West Indies, Germany, India, Holland, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Australia and Sri Lanka, Empire CC are the only club in Finland that could field a team with eleven different nationalities in the line-up.  They won their opening FPL match by 10 runs in a close contest against Bengal Tigers CC, but lost their two Ten10 encounters on Sunday.  They’ll be keen to bounce back in this game!

Key Players

Jonathan Scamans scored 38 off 42 balls in Match 03 last week, and scored 23(23) in T10 Sunday.  He will lead the team from behind the stumps in this match as Amjad Sher is unable to take the field.

Vanraaj Singh Padhaal is a game changer, all-time leading scorer with 2430 runs, with 506 last season.

Raaz Mohammad is a key man, top wicket taker for the club last season with 62 wickets.

Yasir Ali comes into the T20 side and will likely bat up the order.  He opened in their most recent T10 match on Sunday.

Formerly Espoo CC, founded in 2002. Renamed in 2017 becoming national champions in the same year, frequently among the top three sides in the country.

Key Players

Naveed Shahid impressed with 3 for 16 off 3 overs in the first game.  He is a lively swing bowler, likely to take the new ball.  He was their leading wicket taker last season with 34 wickets at 15.00.

Ziaur Rehman was their top scorer last season with 693 runs as well as picking up 17 wickets with his medium pacers.  He is likely to open the batting.

Ghulfam Nazir loves hitting sixes!  He hit 27 last season, and hit two in his explosive innings of 30 off only 20 balls in the first match.

Abdullah Attiqe scored 431 runs last season, and also took 12 catches as wicket-keeper.  He scored 17 off 15 balls in the first game, batting at number six.
