Two sides are set for their ECS debut, while a further two did not fare too well last summer, which means Malmohus (MAM) will be the team to beat in Group B.
Malmohus (MAL) enjoyed an unbeaten run in the group stages last term at European Cricket Series Malmo, but their progress was halted by eventual winners Ariana AKIF in the semi-final. However, MAM claimed bronze medal honours and will be aiming for an even better showing this time around.
Hisingens (HSG) did not enjoy a good tournament either, winning just a solitary game at European Cricket Series Gothenburg 2020 and will be hoping to improve on that showing this time around.
Lund (LND) and Goteborg City (GOC) are both making their ECS debut. Lund was expected to feature in ECL20 as Sweden’s champions team following their incredible win in the Swedish T20 Elite division in 2019. Lund were also due back to play in ECL21 after winning a play-off, the only game LND managed to win in a curtailed season.
Goteborg City have been on a steep rise themselves. GOC finished runners-up in Allsvenskan T20 last year and will now be hoping to impress on the grand stage of European Cricket.
Hosts Landskrona are the late entrants in the FanCode ECS Sweden Malmo replacing Goteborg CC who had to withdraw from the tournament. LAN will be looking to grab this opportunity with both hands to showcase their talent to the world.
