Goteborg City grabbed the glory and were crowned Fancode ECS Sweden Malmo winners after aconvincing 21-run win over Ariana AKIF, the previous champions, on the final day of the tournament.
Batting first, a useful 45 from skipper Abu Zar drove GOC to a challenging total of 125. Rahim Safi, who had earlier made a handy 35 at the top of the order for GOC, and Mahib Shanin took two wickets apiece and helped GOC defend the total in convincing fashion to clinch the title.
GOC had, earlier in the day, beaten Ariana CC in thefirst semi-final to reach the final.
Overall, Goteborg City had wonseven out of eight matches in the group stage to top Group B, before carrying on their good work in the knockout stages to grab the coveted Fancode ECS Sweden Malmo title.
