FanCode ECS Malta provides an opportunity for ten leading Maltese teams to showcase their skills on the magnificent island of Malta, contesting 48 games over 12 days. Every game will be live streamed worldwide on the European Cricket Network and on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent.
Mater Dei came up against an inspired Varun Prasath in the opening match of the day. Not only did Varun pick up three wickets to restrict MTD to a score of 83, he also top-scored with 42 from 26 deliveries to help Super Kings win the match comfortably.
After eight FanCode ECS Malta matches, Super Kings still remain unbeaten. Gopal Chaturvedi’s 35 not out in a fairly straightforward run-chase led them to their eighth victory in the tournament. SKI are surely the team to beat in the competition.
Deon Vosloo with a well-crafted 33 helped Overseas to a total of 101 batting first. In the run chase, the Gozo batters never really took off as captain Jurg Hirschi was the pick among the bowlers for OVR.
Overseas were chasing a target of 58 in the second match of the day and Heinrich Gericke and Charl Kleinepunte decided to fire on all cylinders. While Man of the Match Kleinepunte had a strike rate of over 288, Gericke hit three sixes in six balls to guide OVR to a win in just 3.3 overs.
