Five champion Italian sides, Royal Roma, Kings XI, Venezia, Fresh Tropical and Jinnah Brescia featured over six days in 24 high-octane T10 matches from the capital Rome. Champions at the European Cricket Series last year in Rome and the FanCode ECS Italy Brescia, Jinnah Brescia added a third ECS trophy to their cabinet by winning the FanCode ECS Italy Super Series after a week of intense action.
After finishing second in the league stage with five wins and two losses, JIB enjoyed a great finals day, winning the qualifier by a whisker and then the final quite convincingly.
Batting first in the final against Fresh Tropical, JIB raced to 108/6 in 10 overs with an unbeaten half-century from Hasnat Ahmed, who ended up with 54* off 23 balls. Interestingly, he had made only 12 runs before the final in this tournament. With the ball, they conceded runs upfront but pulled the game back with wickets at frequent intervals. Janaka Wass and Sukhwinder Singh finished with three-wicket hauls as JIB won by a fairly substantial 38 runs.
