FanCode ECS Hungary provided an opportunity for five teams to showcase their skills, contesting 24 games over six days. Every game was live streamed worldwide on the European Cricket Network and on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent.
Defending champions Royal Tigers reigned supreme again to lift the Fancode ECS Hungary title with a convincing win over Budapest Blinders in the finals. Powered by superstar Zeeshan Khan, ROT made the run-chase a cakewalk, winning by eight wickets with an over to spare.
Earlier in the day, Budapest Blinders booked their final spot with a nine-run win against a determined UCB. Nisantha Liyanage nailed the Man of the Match award for his starring role with the ball, picking up three crucial wickets and bowling effectively at the death.
The first Qualifier saw yet another spectacular run-chase, this time with Royal Tigers chasing down a target of 141 in 8.5 overs courtesy of an outrageous 28-ball 80 from Zeeshan Khan.
Vinoth Ravindran smashed a 27-ball 65 to help United Csalad gun down a huge total with two balls to spare. At the halfway point, UCB were 45/1, and on course to crash out of the tournament. However, UCB hammered 86 runs in the next 28 balls to stage a remarkable turnaround.
