Champions! Bonn Blue Star shine brightest at FanCode ECS Germany Krefeld

Bonn Blue Star halted MSC Frankfurt's march to secure a second ECS trophy by winning an action-packed Final. Electing to chase after winning the toss, as they have done all throughout this tournament, Bonn Blue Star bowled tight lines not allowing the MSC Frankfurt batsmen to score freely. Although the ECS Frankfurt winners finished their innings with a flurry of boundaries, it didn't prove to be enough as the BBS openers provided a good start with the bat. MSC Frankfurt did fight back, picking up a few wickets, but Bonn Blue Star side had enough firepower to get over the line with three balls to spare.

Jawad Azizi, returning in the Bonn Blue Star set up after a week proved to be vital as the left arm spinner conceded just six runs in his four overs across two games picking up three crucial wickets. He bagged back-to-back man of the match awards helping BBS to bag the trophy.

Co-hosts Bayer Uerdingen Boosters claimed bronze medal honours beating Koln CC comfortably in the third place play-off.

Earlier in the day, favourites and eventual runners-up MSC Frankfurt edged past Koln CC in an entertaining second semi-final.

Dilshan Rajudeen of Bonn Blue Star was named Man of the Series for his outstanding efforts with both bat and ball throughout the tournament. He finished as the leading run scorer in the series amassing 263 runs from 10 innings. The all-rounder also picked up nine wickets at an impressive economy rate of 7.81.
