Faisal Qasim, the all-rounder has been impressive with his clever off-spin bowling, has picked up 10 scalps leading the wickets column for his side. Has also scored 101 runs.
Vishal Panjwani, 26-year old all-rounder, has scored 49 runs in four innings and has picked up FOUR scalps.
Waqas Virk, the right arm medium pacer mustered 89 runs in six innings including a 22-ball 40 vs USCM on Tuesday.
Waleed Ahmed, an intelligent medium pacer, joint highest wicket taker for BRI, has picked up 10 wickets in seven games.
Richard O’Grady, the hard hitting opener returned man of the match in his very first ECS game mustering 46 off 24 balls. Has racked up a total of 93 runs in four games.
BSC Rehberge topped Group A with seven wins from eight with a mightily impressive NRR as well. After a slow start, reigning champs Britannia also raised their performance levels as the tournament progressed to finish in second spot. After Friday’s rained-off “win”, Britannia will be battle hardened with just a couple of days off to refresh, while BSCR could well be a bit rusty after over a week off from the action.
BSCR were unfortunate in last year’s European Cricket Series Dresden losing out to Britannia CC (BRI) on NRR as the Final between the two sides was abandoned due to rain. Both finished with 12 points in the group standings, but it was BRI who trumped BSCR with a better net run-rate. In the group stages last season, BRI and BSCR shared the spoils with a win apiece. This semi-final meeting is also too close to call, and hopefully the elements will allow the two sides a chance to showcase their skills to a global audience.
