FanCode ECS Germany Dresden provides an opportunity for ten teams, including the hosts Rugby Cricket Dresden, contesting 48 games over 12 days to establish the Champions. European Cricket Network live broadcasts four T10 matches on Day 6 of the 2021 FanCode ECS Germany, Dresden on Saturday 21 August.

 

Britannia CC are the defending champions of Fancode ECS Dresden after winning the 2020 edition on NRR after the Final had to be abandoned due to a heavy downpour. Star all-rounder German international Rohit Singh will be the man to watch as Britannia aim to rule again.

Founded in 1985, Berlin CC (BER) possess a clear vision to increase the popularity of cricket in Germany. The club is multicultural with members from as many as 11 different nationalities. BER have won a host of championships over the years including the Magdeburg T10 Championship in 2019 and will be eager to make an impression on their ECS debut.

Formed in 2018, Berlin International Cricket Academy (BICA) find themselves on a steep learning curve. Led by Arun Kumar and bolstered by the inclusion of former BRI player Sandan Chintanippu, BICA will be aiming for a solid debut appearance.

USG Chemnitz (USGC) finished fourth in the group stages last season, losing to eventual champions BRI in the semi-finals before also coming unstuck in the Bronze Final to RCD. A solid outfit, USGC will be confident of reaching the knockout stages this term.

Founded in 2018, USC Magdeburg (USCM) is a relatively new club but boast an array of young and experienced talent in their ranks. It will be interesting to see how USCM fare on their first appearance on the grand stage of European Cricket.

Sanish Goyal, the all-rounder was second highest run scorer for BRI racking up 121 runs and picking up NINE wickets - joint second highest for BRI.

Sagar Kataria, classy batsman, very consistent, second highest run scorer in Krefeld for Aachen Rising Stars, amassing 233 runs from nine innings with a best score of 92* off just 44 balls. Plays shots all around the park including some ramp shots as well!

Waleed Ahmed, an intelligent medium pacer, picked up NINE wickets last term with a best return of 3-4.

Samad Stanikzai, U19 National team captain, opening batsman capable of scoring runs easily with his ability of playing shots all-round, second highest scorer for USGC racking up 148 runs. Can also bowl decent medium pace.

Gopinath Manoharan, elegant left handed top order batsman, highest scorer this season for his side with a T20 hundred. Can anchor the innings and is capable of hitting huge sixes. Top scorer for USGC last year scoring 149 runs in eight innings.

Varun Soraganvi has represented Karnataka. Technically sound all-rounder, capable of scoring quick runs. One of four bowlers to have picked up all 10 wickets in an innings in professional cricket in India.

Rajesh Nagaraja, the left hander scored 109 runs last term and was the leading wicket taker for USGC troubling the batsmen with his off spin. He picked up EIGHT wickets at an ER of just over eight.

 

These sides battled it out three times last term with reigning champs Britannia CC having the edge over USG Chemnitz by 2-1. BRI will look to continue their dominance over their rivals while USGC will look to even the scores; but it won’t be easy for them against a star-studded BRI side.
