FanCode ECS Germany Dresden provided an opportunity for ten teams, including the hosts Rugby Cricket Dresden, to contest in 48 games over 12 days to establish the Champions. Every game was live streamed worldwide on the European Cricket Network and on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent.
Reigning champions Britannia CC completed back-to-back title wins and were crowned Fancode ECS Germany Dresden winners of 2021 after a convincing 50-run win over Berlin CC on the final day of the tournament.
Britannia CC, who had gone into the finals with a 6-3 win-loss record overcame Berlin CC, who had lost just a single match during the entire tournament... until the Final. Batting first, BRI put on 109/7 in 10 overs, propelled by a 11-ball 25 from German international Rohit Singh. Vishal Panjwani provided solid company with a late cameo - a 13-ball 23 with two sixes - to push BRI's total past the three-figure mark.
In response, BER stuttered early on, losing four wickets within the powerplay overs as Waqas Virk picked up two wickets. After that horror start, BER never really challenged the total, finishing on 59/8 in their quota of overs.
Earlier in the day, BRI made it to the finals with a narrow win over BSC Rehberge 1945 in the second semi-final. BER had beaten RC Dresden in the opening semi-final to make it to the finals and face BRI.
