Venezia CC were started by current club president Alberto Miggiani after he found some strange objects in his back garden – they turned out to be cricket balls! The club had some promising performances this year, qualifying for the quarter finals of both the Italian T20 Championship and the Coppa Italia.

Key Players:
Hosan Ahmed will bat number three and provide some left arm spin for Venezia. Formerly, he bowled pace and was compared to the style of Sri Lankan great, Chaminda Vaas, but a shoulder injury has led to him reinventing himself as a tweaker. He will no doubt be an influential player in Rome.
Nazmul Haque is the captain and most senior player in the Venezia player group. He has consistently been among the highest run-scorers for his team and leads from the front. He will be hungry to lead his team to a place on Super Sunday in Rome.
Shagar Choquder will take the new ball and is one of the best bowlers that the club has produced. He can also produce some big bombs with the bat if he gets an opportunity.
Team Preview for Defentas Sporting
Defentas Sporting Club have had a tough time in the Coppa Italia and T20 cricket this year but perhaps the European Cricket Series will provide them the format in which their players can perform and push some of the more fancied teams in Group B.
Captain: Mukhtiar Singh
Main Wicketkeeper: Asraful Islam
Key Players:
Mukhtiar Singh will lead the side and is always one of the most important players for Defentas. An accomplished batsman who is consistently among the best performers with ball in hand as well – he has a big role to play if his team are to progress in this series.
Mohsin Ahmed was the leading run-scorer for Defentas this season. He will be looking to provide some fireworks at the top of the order and send some balls out of the Roma Cricket Ground.
Abdur Jemi was their leading wicket-taker in 2020. He must take early wickets if Defentas are to restrict their opponents to scores that they are capable of chasing.
