Hosts Roma Capannelle, Asian Latina, Bergamo, Brescia, Janjua Brescia, Jinnah Brescia, Kent Lanka, Kings XI, Roma and Rome Bangla featured over seven days in 25 explosive T10 matches from the magnificent Roma Capannelle Cricket Ground in Italy. Every game was live streamed worldwide on the European Cricket Network and on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent.
European Cricket Series Rome enjoyed a fitting climax on Sunday with the crema de la crema of Italian cricket fighting it out for the precious silverware.
Interestingly, with Jinnah Brescia meeting unbeaten Bergamo in the final, the very two sides that met in the opening game of the tournament, faced off in the showcase final with the title up for grabs.
After suffering their only defeat en route to the final against Bergamo in their first game, revenge was definitely sweet for Jinnah Brescia.
Nawaz Sharukh dominated the Jinnah Brescia innings with a stupendous knock of 90 off 32 balls, blasting 5 fours and 9 sixes. In fact, it proved quite a day for Nawaz Sharukh as his unbeaten half-century took his side to victory against Janjua Brescia in the opening semi-final earlier in the day.
Against most other sides, a target of 136 would have been too many but Bergamo had proved that they can chase down any score in their unbeaten march to the final. Ultimately, Bergamo were up with the rate until the introduction of wily leg spinner Muhammad Iqbal who bowled two priceless overs for only 8 runs. Amazing match-winning figures by "Bali" given the pressure of the occasion as Jinnah Brescia ran out worthy winners by 23 runs.
Janjua Brescia won the Bronze Final overcoming local rivals Brescia for 3rd place honours.
