European Cricket Series Malta provided an opportunity for six Maltese teams to showcase their skills on the magnificent island of Malta. American University of Malta, Knight Kings CC, Marsa CC, Msida Warriors CC, Overseas CC and Southern Crusaders CC contested 33 exciting T10 games over nine days. Every game live streamed on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent, and for rest of the world on Sports Flick, a global OTT platform, that allows you to watch live sport on demand.
Marsa CC timed their run to perfection and inflicted a first defeat on Knights CC to become champions at European Cricket Series Malta.
Finishing third in the standings, Marsa lost twice to the Knights in the group stages. But batting first first in the final, Marsa racked up an imposing 119 on the back of skipper Haroon Mughal’s fine knock of 53 off 24 balls. In the final, at crunch time, Knights CC top order could not provide the weight of runs necessary, meaning the previously undefeated side fell decisively behind the run rate from the off.
A winning margin of 35 runs for Marsa was the logical consequence.
