The European Cricket Network live broadcasts the 2020 European Cricket Series Cyprus encounter between Amdocs and Nicosia Tigers.

PREVIEW: MATCH 6 – Amdocs v Nicosia Tigers – European Cricket Series Cyprus

Tune in to the live action Tuesday from 8am CEST * 7am UK * 6am GMT * 11:30pm IST from the Ypsonas Cricket Ground in Cyprus.

Team Preview for Amdocs

Amdocs played twice on Day 1 and couldn’t register a victory against Punjab Lions or Cyprus Moufflons.  They will be keen to make up for it on Day 2, and have the opportunities against teams they would fancy their chances against.  They still have six preliminary matches to make their run at Finals Friday.

Captain: Hitesh Thadani

Main Wicketkeeper: Aritra Chakrabooty

Key Players:

Swaroop Pattanaik was the only bright spot with the bat for Amdocs on Day 1 of competition.  His sparkling 32 off only 19 balls put an early scare through the Lions.  It is imperative that he goes on and makes big scores if Amdocs are to win matches!

Gaurav Sagwan actually bowled pretty well without luck in my opinion.  He picked up 1 for 4 off his two overs against the Moufflons and is definitely a player to watch.

Vilok Sharma is a useful spin option with his left-arm tweakers, and I actually think that Amdocs might gamble and throw him up the order to let him swing the willow and get things moving.

Team Preview for Nicosia Tigers

The Nicosia Tigers are also without a win, but have only played one match in the tournament to date.  They play three matches on their “Super Tiger Tuesday” so it’s a great chance for them to gain ascendancy over some of the other sides.

Captain: Faysal Mia

Main Wicketkeeper: Yasir Khan

Key Players:

Yasir Khan was dangerous at the top of the order, scoring 34 off 21 balls.  He is likely to take the gloves in the first match of the day to add to his batting responsibilities.

Faruk Ahmed impressed me with 2 for 19 against a strong Lions batting lineup, then provided a late innings flurry for the Tigers, contributing an unbeaten 25 off 19 balls with the bat.

Rashidul Hasan also looked good opening the batting, making a crisp 32 off 23 balls before being bowled.  Let’s see if he can get going again on “Super Tiger Tuesday”.

Mr Maximo’s tip: NICOSIA TIGERS

Both these teams are licking their wounds after a mauling from the Lions, but I felt there were more bright spots for the Tigers in their performance.  Apart from Pattanaik, no Amdocs batsman has really looked like taking the game on and I believe that scoring enough runs will be a huge problem for them.  They need to find boundaries and find them fast!  I think Nicosia Tigers, with some key inclusions, will be too strong for Amdocs on the first match of Tuesday T10 action from Cyprus.
