Beveren, Exiles, Hasselt, Liege, Mechelen Eagles and Ostend feature this weekend in ten all-action T10 matches to establish the European Series Belgium Champions. Beveren will be boosted by the all-round talents of Belgium international Ashiqullah Said who will become the first “King of Europe” to play in the European Cricket Series.
Ashiqullah Said was a mainstay for Netherlands champions V.O.C. Rotterdam when crowned “Kings of Europe” at the inaugural European Cricket League last summer. Ashiqullah picked up a stack of wickets as V.O.C. Rotterdam romped to victory at ECL19 at La Manga Club in Spain.
Ashiqullah will feature for Beveren, one of the favourites at the European Cricket Series Belgium. Discussing Beveren’s chances: “With respect to all the other teams in the competition, we must be one of the favourites to win. Mechelen Eagles and Ostend are also good sides and in T10 cricket anything can happen,” Ashiqullah said.
