Team Preview for Kings
Kings CC have had a mixed time this season. They won two out of their four games in the Liga Catalana but had some promising performances in that competition. They did not play on the first day of Group A action, so this match marks their debut in European Cricket Series competition.
Captain: Moshiur Rahman
Main Wicketkeeper: Jubed Miah
Key Players:
Sofiqul Islam will bat at number three. He is the Kings’ leading run-scorer in T20 cricket this season and averaged over 100 in that competition. He can hit the ball a long way and his top score of 109 shows that he can sustain an assault.
Moshiur Rahman is one of their key bowling weapons. The captain picked up a hat trick in the T20 competition and would love to repeat the feat in front of a global audience at the European Cricket League.
Shakil Mia will feature at the top of the batting line-up. He has been in good form domestically and will hope to carry it into this series.
Team Preview for United Girona
United CC Girona have been one of the form teams in T20 cricket this season. Their recent T10 form had been disappointing but they started this series strongly on Monday morning, restricting Badalona Shaheen to 87 before breezing to the target in the eighth over.
Captain: Mirza Imtiaz Asghar
Main Wicketkeeper: Abid Mahboob
Key Players:
Aziz Mohammad will open the batting and the bowling. The Belgian national representative impressed in their first match, scoring 35 off 20 balls. With the ball he was a little expensive although he did pick up an important wicket. A very safe pair of hands in the field, he grasped three catches against Badalona Shaheen.
Muhammad Ehsan looked explosive opening the batting in Match 1, top scoring with an unbeaten 42 off only 19 balls, striking the ball crisply with four maximos. He will look to keep up that form and take United to a formidable total.
Muhammad Sheraz was very economical with the ball. He conceded only eight runs off his two overs with his left arm spin and netted a wicket. He proved very difficult to get away on this newly-laid artificial surface.

United Girona were hampered by some forced changes in Match 1 but still managed to get the job done against Badalona Shaheen. They are still missing Mirza Basharat Aziz and Muhammad Jafri who will only strengthen their side when they return. Kings CC are new to the European Cricket Series and may find it difficult to set the pace required to be competitive in this match. I think United Girona will prevail in the first match of four on Thursday and make it two out of two for their campaign. Tune in to the European Cricket Network for all the action!
