What was meant to be a full week of cricket in Bucharest turned into a four-day sprint, but ECS Romania 2025 is officially underway — a testament to resilience, teamwork, and the unshakeable spirit of the game.

Originally scheduled to begin on May 26, the tournament faced persistent rain that made play impossible for several days. The start was pushed to Sunday, June 1, after heavy rainfall rendered conditions unplayable at the Moara Vlasiei Cricket Ground.

But when the skies cleared, the ECN crew wasted no time. Working tirelessly behind the scenes, the team turned a soggy outfield into a playable pitch and brought ECS Romania back to life.

The format was revised due to time constraints — now featuring four determined teams competing in a triple round-robin over four days, with the tournament winner to be decided on Wednesday, June 4. Fewer matches, but no shortage of excitement.

It’s been a challenging few days, but the players are ready, the ground is set, and the fans can finally enjoy the cricketing action they’ve been waiting for.

We’re grateful for the commitment and dedication of our crew and everyone involved who made this tournament possible. The rain came — but it couldn’t wash away the spirit of ECS Romania.
