The latest edition of ECS Romania came with its fair share of challenges, most notably persistent rain that delayed the tournament’s start. But thanks to the tireless efforts of the ECN ground crew, the event was brought to life at Moara Vlasiei Cricket Ground, delivering thrilling cricket despite the odds.

When the action finally got underway, it was Phoenix who made the most of the shortened format. The debutants looked sharp from the outset, showing consistency and intent throughout the triple round-robin format. Alongside them, Bliss Warriors, another impressive debut side, kept pace, with both teams finishing as the top two to set up a much-anticipated final.

In the championship clash, Bliss Warriors batted first but could only post 84 runs, as Phoenix’s bowlers applied the pressure early. The chase was smooth and composed, with Phoenix cruising to victory and lifting the ECS Romania trophy in style.

The standout performer of the tournament was Bilal Ahmed of Phoenix, who was named MVP after finishing as the top run scorer with 269 runs. His form was key to Phoenix’s dominance and title triumph.

From battling the elements to celebrating cricketing brilliance, ECS Romania 2025 proved that the game goes on – rain or shine. Hats off to all the teams, and especially to our ground staff, for making the event happen and keeping the spirit of the game alive in Romania.
