European Cricket’s second tour to Malta in 2025 delivered a perfect mix of thrilling club cricket action and competitive international cricket. From ECS drama to national pride in ECIs and T20Is, fans at Marsa Sports Club witnessed the continued rise of Maltese cricket.

Swieqi United proved themselves as a dominant force in ECS cricket, lifting the ECS Malta, Spring Series trophy by defeating Southern Crusaders in the final. It was their second ECS title in 2025, underlining a sensational season. They will be keen to qualify for ECL next year with the momentum and form they are in.

While Swieqi took home the title, it was Southern Crusaders' Jagath Poorna who was named MVP of the tournament, thanks to his outstanding all-round performances throughout the week.

The tour also featured two ECI series and their respective ECN T20I counterparts.

In the ECI-W Malta-Croatia series, Croatia edged past Malta 3-2 in a close contest. But Malta hit back in style in the ECN Malta-Croatia T20IW, winning 2-0 and showing resilience and class.

On the men's side, Malta swept Estonia 5-0 in the ECI Malta-Estonia series, showcasing depth and consistency. Estonia responded well in the ECN Malta-Estonia T20I series, but Malta held their nerve to edge the series 2-1 and complete a highly successful home campaign.

From Swieqi’s ECS domination to Malta’s national pride on full display, the Spring tour to Malta was yet another milestone on the ECN calendar. With packed action, passionate crowds, and rising talent, Malta continues to grow as a vibrant cricketing hub in Europe.
