Gozo Zalmi Clinches ECS Malta, Encore Title in Spectacular Fashion

The cricketing fervor reached its zenith in Malta as ECS Malta, Encore unfolded, leaving cricket enthusiasts spellbound. The tournaments witnessed thrilling encounters, rain-curtailed dramas, and exceptional performances that will be etched in the annals of Maltese cricket history.

Gozo Zalmi emerged victorious once more, clinching the ECS Malta, Encore title in a rain-affected final against Edex Knights. The Knights set a formidable target of 55 runs in 5 overs. However, Zalmi's skipper, Zeeshan Khan, showcased a blistering innings, scoring an impressive 47 runs off just 17 balls, propelling his team to victory in a mere 3.4 overs. Zeeshan Khan's remarkable display earned him the Player of the Match award.

This triumph marked Gozo Zalmi's second ECS victory of the year, adding to their triumph in the FanCode ECS Malta held earlier in February against Southern Crusaders.

Gozo Zalmi is also set to represent Malta in the upcoming European Cricket League 2024 (ECL24). They will be looking to put on similar performances on the biggest stage of club cricket in Europe.

Edex Knight's Samuel Stanislaus emerged as the tournament's Most Valuable Player, showcasing exceptional all-round performances throughout the event. Stanislaus's impressive tally of 436 runs coupled with 11 wickets highlighted his invaluable contributions to his team's journey in the competition.
