The European Cricket Network’s recent tour to Krefeld, Germany delivered an action-packed cricket, featuring top-quality contests across ECI, ECS, and ECS-W events.
The tour kicked off in spectacular fashion with a fiercely contested ECI series between Germany and Belgium, where the visitors narrowly edged the hosts 4-3 in a gripping 7-match series. The standout performer was Burhan Niaz, who was in a league of his own. He amassed 349 runs and took 3 wickets, earning him the well-deserved MVP award.

Following the ECI fireworks, ECS Germany brought more high-octane cricket to Krefeld. The tournament culminated in a dominant final win for VFB Gelsenkirchen, who posted a mammoth 169 against Dusseldorf Blackcaps and went on to win by 35 runs. The Blackcaps' hopes were dashed early as their talisman Jamshed Khan fell cheaply, although his consistent brilliance throughout the tournament—scoring 329 runs and taking 7 wickets—earned him the MVP title.
The action concluded with ECS-W Krefeld, Germany, showcasing the rising strength of women’s cricket in Germany. Baden-Wurttemberg United-W emerged as champions, topping the table with five wins out of six. DJK Munich-W claimed the runners-up spot with four victories, while Western Warriors-W remained winless but showed admirable spirit and development. Shraddha Palaneer was named MVP for her impactful performances with the bat and ball, scoring 189 runs and taking a couple of wickets.

With strong performances across all formats and unforgettable moments on the field, the Krefeld tour reaffirmed ECN’s mission of growing the game across Europe—one city at a time.
