Following a successful ECSN Belgium series earlier this year, international cricket makes a much-anticipated return to Belgian soil with the Mdina Cup 2024, taking place at the Stars Arena Hofstade, Zemst. This edition will feature both men's and women’s T20I competitions, making it a festival of international cricket from May 28 to June 1.
The tournament kicks off with the women’s Mdina Cup, where Belgium take on Switzerland in a four-match T20I series over two days, May 28 and 29. This will be a fantastic opportunity for both sides to showcase their growth in the women's game and climb the international rankings.
Following the women’s event, the spotlight will shift to the men’s Mdina Cup, featuring three strong European contenders: Belgium, Portugal, and Malta. The men’s event begins on May 30, with the final scheduled for June 1. All matches will be played under official T20I status, offering valuable ranking points and fierce competition.
Hosts Belgium will be looking to defend their Mdina Cup title, having won the previous edition in Dreux, France, where they defeated France in a rain-affected final by 15 runs. With home advantage and a strong core, they will be aiming for back-to-back titles.
