Kummerfelder Sport Verein (KSV), Polizeisportverein Hann. Münden (PSV), MTV Hannover (MTV) and SC Europa (SCV) battle it out in the ECN Hannover Hitout over two days of high-octane T10 action at MTV Herrenhausen in Hannover, Northern Germany.

REPORT: Matchday 1 – ECN Hannover Hitout

Proud hosts MTV Stallions were determined to put on a good showing on home soil in the inaugural ECN Hannover Hitout. Twice winning the toss and making first use of true Astroturf surface, MTV were able to post two large totals and kick off the ECN Hannover Hitout with two convincing victories.

Basit Orya was in blistering form, blasting 41 off 19 as MTV comfortably saw off the challenge of PSV Hann. Münden in the opening game.

MTV Stallions followed up with a monumental 144 in their 10 overs in another rout of SC Europa, with Basit Orya again chipping in with 31 off 17 and bagging a couple of wickets in his only over. Not to be outdone, Mohammad Faruq Arabzai mullered 42 off 17 as the Stallions overpowered SCE.

PSV Hann. Münden got off the mark with a win against SC Europa, posting 109 which a somewhat dispirited SCE never looked like threatening, finishing 22 runs short.

Saving the best till last, plenty of fireworks followed in the final game of day 1 with PSV posting a challenging 140 on the back of Adeel Ahmad amazing innings of 86 off 32 balls.

Most sides would have been overawed at the prospect of chasing 14 an over, however KSV hunted down their target with relish.

In particular, Muhammad Samiullah went wild for Germany’s 50over champions with a brilliant unbeaten 77 off 24 balls, hitting 5x4 8x6 at a not too shabby strike rate of 320.83.

Chasing down 141 with ease, KSV reached their target with 8 balls to spare, laying down a marker in the ECN Hannover Hitout.
