Prague Barbarians Vandals ran rampant to prevail at Week 3 of the ECN Czech Super Series in Prague.

Batting first in the final against previously unbeaten Prague CC Rooks, Prague Barbarians Vandals openers Honey Gori and Sabawoon Davizi destroyed the bowling with a blistering opening partnership of 76 inside six overs, before Gori went for 30. Despite miserly spells from Rohit Deshmoyni 2/11 and Smit Patel 1/13, Davizi continued on his merry way to 55 as the Vandals racked up 122 – again the highest score of the tournament when it mattered most.

In reply, Prague CC Rooks were never really in the hunt following a slow start. Surya Rengarajan and Kushal Mendon’s lusty hitting was too little too late as the Vandals advance to Finals Day weekend on July 11 & 12.

Earlier in the day, Prague Spartans Mobilizers and Prague Barbarians Vandals met in a local derby to kick off proceedings on Finals day. Bearing in mind, current form and standings overnight, this was always likely to be the first of two meetings on Sunday.

Blessed by beautiful blue skies, Vandals never relinquished their grip on the game, hitting 15 off the first over despite the loss of Honey Gori run out. Opener Pradeepraj Balakrishnan top scored with 24 off 13 finding the boundary with ease as Vandals plundered 102. In reply, the Mobilizers were never at the races with only skipper Suresh Kuramboyina reaching double figures. Honey Gori did most of the damage for the Vandals with three scalps as the Mobilizers were demobilized for 62 inside 9 overs.

In the final group stage game, unbeaten Prague CC Rooks became the first team to successfully chase down a target, hauling in Budejovice Barracudas score of 78. Opener Ayush Sharma led the way with 35 for the Barracudas with Surya Rengarajan the pick of the bowlers. However, the total proved only a slight inconvenience for the Rooks who romped home with 10 balls remaining on the back of Kushal Mendon’s unbeaten knock.

In the eliminator to reach the final, Prague Barbarians Vandals met Prague Spartans Mobilizers in a repeat of the opening game of the day. Batting first, Vandals again wreaked havoc on the bowling, racking up 118 - the highest score of the weekend so far. Honey Gori top scored with 40, well supported by Sabawoon Davizi and Divyendra Singh. In reply, the Mobilizers made a better fist of the chase than in the first meeting but were always struggling to keep up with the rate. So, the relentless Vandals progressed to the final to face the Rooks, coming into form at just the right time.
