PREVIEW: WEEK 3, MATCH 2 – PCC Rooks vs Prague Barbarians Vandals – ECN Czech Super Series

Tune in to the live action Saturday from 12pm CEST * 11am UK * 10am GMT * 3:30pm IST from the Vinor Cricket Ground, Prague in the Czech Republic.

Team Preview for PCC Rooks

The fact that Prague Cricket Club Rooks are missing key players Keyur Mehta and Shripal Gajjar won’t help their cause, but they’ll still be keen to push for the qualifying spot this weekend. They play the Prague Spartans Mobilizers in the weekend’s opening match before taking on the Vandals in this game.

Captain: Rohit Deshmoyni

Main Wicket-Keeper: Piyushsingh Baghel

Key Players:

Kushal Mendon has represented the Czech Republic in international cricket and that experience will be very useful to his side during the ECN Czech Super Series.  Averaging 39 last season with a high score of 104, the Rooks will look to him to set the tempo.

Aakash Parmar can keep the score ticking with the bat and will bowl some useful spin.  Forcing the batsmen to make the pace has proved a smart tactic in Czech conditions.

Rohit Deshmoni is a useful middle-order hitter and can chip in with the.  He leads the side this weekend in the absence of regular skipper Keyur Mehta.

Team Preview for Prague Barbarians Vandals

Prague Barbarians Vandals chances have been boosted by the presence of some Czech cricketing stars.  They will hope to send a message in their opening match of the weekend.

Captain & Main Wicket-Keeper: Pradeep Gangappa

Key Players:

HoneyGori is among the best players in the country with bat and ball.  Scoring 691 runs at an average of 69.10 last season, including a double century, he will be the wicket the Rooks prize most.

Sabawoon Davizi will likely open the batting and make the most of the powerplay overs.  The Vandals will look to him, along with Gori, to help the team post a big score.

Divyendra Singh is a flexible player for the Vandals.  As well as being a talent stroke maker up the top of the order, he can also keep wickets if required.

The injury on Wednesday to Shripal Gajjar hasn’t done the Rooks any favours and I think they go into this weekend’s action lacking the personnel to challenge a team like the Vandals.  The ‘Big Two’ of Gori and Davizi to lead the Vandals to victory.
