PREVIEW: MATCH 23 (SEMI-FINAL 2) – Zurich Nomads vs Winterthur CC – Dream11 European Cricket Series St Gallen

Tune in to the live action Friday from 11am CEST * 10am UK * 9am GMT * 2:30pm IST from the Grundenmoos ground in the city of St Gallen, Switzerland.

Team Preview for Zurich Nomads

Zurich Nomads won four of their six preliminary matches and swept aside Winterthur 118 to 89 less than 24 hours ago.  With some key players coming into form on Thursday, could the Nomads go all the way?

Captain: Azeem Nazir

Main Wicket-Keeper: Asvin Lakkaraju

Key Players:

Hassan Ahmad starred for Brescia in ECL19 and it’s fantastic to see him scoring runs in the Dream11 European Cricket Series.  His 81 not out off only 27 balls on Thursday was sublime and he must fire on Finals Friday if the Nomads are to be champions.

Faheem Nazir is an outstanding batsman who has been reliable all week.  He can cement his reputation as the best batsman in the country with match-winning performances in the finals.

Azeem Nazir has found it hard to get going with the bat, but his off-speed bowling has proved disruptive to opposition innings this week.  Look out for him to put the brakes on Winterthur in the middle overs.

Team Preview for Winterthur CC

Winterthur lost their final preliminary match to Cossonay but held on to third place on net run rate.  They face a stern test in the semi-final against a powerful Nomads lineup.

Captain: Mohamed Aqular

Main Wicket-Keeper: Prafull Shikare

Key Players:

Rajveer Singh Tiwana is known as “Boom Boom” for a reason.  He provided batting heroics despite barely being able to walk on Thursday due to a lower leg injury. The extent of his recovery by Friday morning will be a vital indicator of Winterthur’s chances.

Sufyan Cheema has been threatening with the bat but hasn’t been able to go on to a big score just yet.  The finals provides a magnificent canvas for him to go about his work.

Deesh Banneheka has been the bowler of the tournament.  He leads all-comers with 11 wickets, including an unprecedented quintuple wicket maiden and double hat-trick. Will the Nomads attack the “Deesh” or play it safe?

Mr Maximo tip: ZURICH NOMADS

Despite a minor hiccup to Cossonay, the Nomads seem to be hitting their straps at the right time, while Winterthur looked tired in their last match on the Thursday evening.  I can’t see Winterthur being able to stop Zurich Nomads from marching to the final where they will meet the winner of Olten CC and Cossonay CC.  Look out for Hassan Ahmad to do some damage.
