Münden (PSV), SC Europa (SCE) and VFB Fallersleben (VFB) compete in 20 high-octane T10 matches over five days to establish the Dream11 European Cricket Series Kummerfeld Champions. Dream11 European Cricket Series Kummerfeld made history on Monday as Sharanya Sadarangani set the standard by becoming the first female cricketer to play in the Dream11 European Cricket Series.
Sharanya slick wicket keepingSharu, who will turn 25 in a few days’ time, is a current member of the Germany squad with international experience for Denmark and with Essex CCC in England. Formerly, she represented the Karnataka U19 state team in Bangalore alongside future India World Cup stars like Veda Krishnamurthy and Rajeshwari Gayakwad. Despite Sharanya’s slick wicket keeping, KSV, Germany’s Bundesliga 50 over champions, slipped to a shock defeat in a low-scoring opener to PSV Hann Münden.
Next up, ECL19 runners-up SG Findorff laid down a marker against MTV Stallions, effortlessly chasing down a target of 89 with 19 balls to spare.
In back to back matches, SG Findorff looked to be on course for another victory against PSV Hann Münden after racking up a mammoth 146. PSV paid for dropping four catches in an over which tends to elevate the scoring rate. Ammar Khalid reached 50 off 12 balls, while ex Germany U19 captain Aziz Dawodzy needed 22 balls for his half-century.
However, in reply, PSV recovered from a pedestrian start (52-0 off 5) to reach the target with two balls remaining without losing a wicket. Adeel Ahmad amassed an amazing 119 not out from just 39 balls.
Adeel has the answersIn the final match of the day, a somewhat tired PSV relinquished their 100% record against MTV Stallions. Chasing 106, PSV lost centurion Adeel Ahmad second ball and were never in contention.
In a series of unpredictable results, no team ended the opening day unbeaten before VFB Fallersleben and SC Europa enter the fray on Tuesday.
