European Cricket Network and Deutscher Cricket Bund announce Dream11 European Cricket Series Kummerfeld

Dream11 European Cricket Series Kummerfeld provides an opportunity for six teams from Northern Germany and numerous German internationals to showcase their skills to a global audience, over five days in 20 exciting T10 matches from Monday June 29 to Friday 3 July.

Every game will be live streamed worldwide on the European Cricket Network, on FreeSports TV in UK and on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent.

“Kummerfeld is a special place with special people. Here in November 2016 I decided to live stream the KSV Indoor Final for German Cricket TV on Facebook,” said Daniel Weston, Founder of the European Cricket Series.

“I had my phone on a tripod while I was hanging outside the door in the freezing cold air so as to not get in the way of the fielders to ensure a good 3G connection,” Weston explained his great attachment to promoting cricket in this part of the world.

“This moment is marked down in history for me. I will forever remember that night, because it meant that Kummerfeld was the birthplace of my idea to start live streaming cricket in Germany to help promote awareness and grow the game as fast as possible.

“Since Kummerfeld was the first place I ever live streamed cricket from, I am extremely excited to make Kummerfeld the first location in Germany that we ever live broadcast a Dream11 European Cricket Series event from. I thank KSV President, Hassan Waseem and all of his team and cricket lovers in Northern Germany. This is the start of something special to further ignite cricket in Germany. I can’t wait for it to begin!”

Over five days, hosts Kummerfelder Sportverein (KSV), ECL19 runners-up SG Findorff (SGF), MTV Stallions (MTV), Polizeisportverein Hann. Münden (PSV), SC Europa (SCE) and VFB Fallersleben (VFB) will compete in 20 T10 matches to establish the Dream11 European Series Kummerfeld Champions.

“We are grateful to the European Cricket Network for their continued support. This is the first of many Dream11 European Cricket Series in Germany over the coming months,” said Brian Mantle, CEO of the Deutscher Cricket Bund (DCB).

“We have a plethora of talent in Northern Germany. It is incredibly attractive and a great incentive for these players to showcase their skills to large global audiences.”
