Zagreb, Croatia - The Croatian Cricket Federation (CCF) is excited to announce its continuing collaboration with the signing & formalisation of an Addendum Agreement with the ECL and the European Cricket Network (ECN).

The partnership between CCF and ECN aims to develop and grow the sport of cricket in Croatia and provide senior and junior players with the opportunities to develop their skills and love for the game.

Additional funding will now be provided to invest directly into youth cricket, the improvement of venues, plus increased funding for the hosting and participation in domestic and international matches for Men’s and Women’s cricket.

Along with their participation in the European Cricket League, the Champions League of European cricket, Croatia will also participate in Group B of their first ever European Cricket Championship, the Euros of cricket, in September this year in Cartama, Spain.

Cricket has a proud history in Croatia having first been played in Croatia in 1811 and today the CCF is more determined than ever to ensure that cricket becomes widely played across the nation.

In 2023, 23rd October till 3rd November are the dates for the European Cricket Series Croatia and 4th and 5th November are the dates for T10 European Cricket Internationals between Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia, with both events to be held in Zagreb, Croatia.

The ongoing partnership will involve joint initiatives such as the organisation of senior international & domestic tournaments, and youth development programmes. It will also aim to create awareness about cricket as a sport and inspire more adults and children to take it up.

Mr. Mate Jukic, President of CCF, said, "It is an honour for Croatia to sign this Addendum Agreement as an amazing initiative by the ECN. We are a small nation, and we are proud to support Daniel and the outstanding work ECN is doing to grow the game at all levels across Europe. We believe that cricket has tremendous potential in our country and with the help of ECN, we hope to create a strong foundation for Cricket to grow and flourish. It is a major steppingstone for us to strengthen the development of the game in Croatia especially with young girls and boys at schools"

We thank Daniel and ECN and look forward to continuing this cricket partnership in Europe well into the future.

Daniel Weston, founder of the ECN commented, “Croatia has a special place in my heart. My great grandparents were Croatian and emigrated to Australia over 100 years ago which shaped my upbringing. Plus, I had some of my first incredible experiences as a European cricketer when touring Croatia to play cricket in Vis and Split and meeting the passionate local cricket community. There are so many proud Croatians both inside and outside Croatia that love cricket so much. So, to be able to directly help the cricketers and future cricketers of Croatia is an incredible feeling.”

This year, the ECN is presenting over 30 events and over 1,500 cricket matches in TV quality broadcasts, including the FanCode European Cricket Series, European Cricket League, FanCode European Cricket Internationals, T20Is and Dream11 European Cricket Championship. Croatia will be proudly involved in them all – this year as well as in the future.
