Broadcast to a worldwide audience, the European Cricket Championship - ECC21 - is a month-long national team tournament including representative sides from England and the Netherlands. Featuring almost 100 games in September and October, 15 national teams will contest the inaugural 2021 edition. The competition will be intense for the European Cricket Championship crown at the picturesque Cartama Oval, Malaga, Spain.
Ever since breaking the internet at ECL19 and winning the hearts of cricket lovers worldwide, including the great Australian Shane Warne, Pavel Florin has been the toast of the cricketing world. His on-field entertainment aside, Florin is a skilful bowler who holds the record for the best strike-rate in T20I cricket (minimum 10 innings bowled in).
A thorough entertainer, Florin is the heart and soul of Romania cricket, but is not too famous for his batting skills. In fact, he hadn't even scored a single boundary in tournaments covered by European Cricket Network until day three of action in Group B of the Dream11 European Cricket Championship.
So when he found the middle of the bat with a swat through square leg against Hungary on Wednesday, Florin made sure he celebrated it in style. Moving across outside his off-stump, Florin smashed the low full toss to the leg side for four and immediately went down on his knees to swirl the bat around in celebration.
He later shared the video of the boundary and his celebrations on his Twitter handle.
