In the second game of Group C between Czech Republic and Finland, Wickramasekara smashed 44 off just 27 balls to take CZR to 92 in 10 overs. He returned with the ball to take three wickets in a fantastic spell of 2-0-11-3 to win the Player of the Match award.
In CZR's second game against Italy, Wickramasekara was once again in red hot form. In two overs, he conceded just eight runs and took a wicket and then with the bat fired an unbeaten 54 in just 27 balls to guide Czech Republic to their second win in the day.
Earlier this year, Wickramasekara was the highest run-scorer in the FanCode ECS Czech Republic Prague, making 299 runs at an average of 49.93 and a strike-rate of 213.57 for title-winning side Prague CC Kings.
